Programs at Ski Sundown

A program is a series of lessons spread out over multiple weeks, tailored to a specific age group and skill level. Programs are one of the best ways to build new skiing and snowboarding skills — or sharpen existing ones — alongside others of similar age and ability. The friendships and camaraderie built during a season of programs keep many families coming back year after year.

Ski Sundown offers Connecticut ski and snowboard programs for kids as young as age 3, through teens and adults, with options at every skill level — from first-time recreational lessons to competitive race training. Explore the programs below to find the best fit for your age, ability, and goals on the mountain.

Recreational Programs

Designed for skiers and riders who want to build confidence, learn new terrain, and have fun on the mountain — no racing required.

• 3s On Skis – skiers only; age 3 only; 1st timer level
• Puffins – skiers only; ages 4–6; any skill level
• First Adventures – skiers only; ages 7–11 only; 1st timer level
• Junior Mountain Adventures – skiers only; ages 5–7; beginner level and above
• Mountain Adventures – skiers/snowboarders; ages 6–15; novice level and above
• Terrain Park Adventures – skiers/snowboarders; ages 8–15; intermediate level and above
• Club Sundown – skiers/snowboarders; ages 8–17; any skill level
• Freestyle Clinic – skiers/snowboarders; ages 8–17; intermediate level and above
• Women’s Club – skiers only; ages 18+; any skill level

Competitive & Racing Programs

For skiers looking to develop race-specific skills, train with a team, and compete at a higher level.

• Race Team Development – skiers only; ages 7–17; intermediate level and above
• Ski Sundown Ski Team – skiers only; ages 8–18; intermediate level and above

Leadership Programs

For older teens ready to build on their own skills while learning to teach and lead others.

Program Protection Policy

Ski Sundown will reimburse the cost of your program on a prorated basis in the event of injury/sickness which prevents you from completing the program. Refund requests must be received prior to end of season. Injury or illness must be confirmed by letter from a licensed physician. The cost of a Protection Policy is 6% of the purchase price of your program(s). If you decline the Protection Policy and should be unable to complete the program for any reason, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Program Refund Policy

A full refund less a $25 administrative fee will be given if request is made in writing and received prior to the program Registration Deadline. No refund will be given after the program Registration Deadline for any reason unless the Program Protection Policy has been purchased.  All Protection Policy requests for refunds must be received by the Welcome Center prior to the end of the season.
